Key Laboratory of Broadband Communication

The Key Laboratory of Broadband Communication is geared towards the significant demand for development of broadband wireless communication technology in the National Medium and Long-Term Program for Science and Technology Development Plan. In view of the space information network, a new generation of digital TV, and a new generation of broadband wireless mobile communication network and other major applications, the laboratory aims to fully make coordinated use of space, time, frequency, power, terminal, network and other resources to break through complex interference that severely restricts extensibility of network capacity, energy consumption which seriously restricts the sustainable development of the network, and the network which cannot support all-weather coverage and other bottleneck problems. The laboratory takes outstanding innovations, technology standards and system integration as research characteristics, improves the chain of academic research of "theoretical research→technology innovation→industry application", meets the future demand of high-speed, high-capacity and high-quality information services for broadband wireless communication, and leads the development of discipline in the field of broadband communication in China. From January 2014 to December 2017, the key laboratory published 418 papers included in SCI in important academic journals both in China and abroad, four academic monographs of Wiley and Springer, and applied for 210 invention patents. The laboratory has won the First Class Award of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Class Award of State Technological Invention Award, IEEE Scott Helt Memorial Award and many other international academic awards.
