On the afternoon of November 23, 2020 the third meeting of the first Management Committee of the Tsinghua-Fuzhou Data Technology Research Institute was held in the Information Building of Tsinghua University. Li Chun, Deputy Mayor of Fuzhou and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, Zhang Qingya, Director of the Fuzhou Big Data Development Management Committee, Wu Yongzhong, Executive Deputy Mayor of Changle District, Academician Xue Qikun, Vice President of Tsinghua University and Director of the Management Committee, Zhen Shuning, Vice President of the Scientific Research Institute and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, Academician Dai Qionghai, Director of the Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology and President of the Scientific Research Institute, and Professor Jin Depeng, Head of the Party Work Leading Group at the School of Information Science and Technology, among others, attended the meeting.

In his speech, Xue Qikun looked back on the development of the Institute over the past three years, pointed out that the Institute was born at a critical time in the development of data technology, represents the common aspirations of the two sides, and has been highly trusted and strongly supported by Tsinghua University and the Fuzhou municipal government, and expressed hope that the Institute would become the starting point for bringing cooperation between the two sides to new heights, and keep contributing to the development of Fuzhou's information technology and industry.

Li Chun spoke highly of the work of the Institute. The Fuzhou municipal Party committee and municipal government attached great importance to the work of the Institute, and hoped that the Institute would further adapt to regional needs, increase the depth and breadth of digital empowerment, expand platform functions, accelerate the transformation of technological achievements, and help related companies take the lead in enterprise technological innovation in Fuzhou to become a booster for Fuzhou's industrial transformation and upgrading.

Dai Qionghai said that Fuzhou is a good resource for the transformation and application of Tsinghua University's achievements, and the Institute should transform its work mode, think in reverse, prioritize support for industrial transformation projects, and open up channels for the industrialization of technological achievements. The National Research Center adheres to the tenet of "standing upright on one's two legs between heaven and earth -- having an indomitable spirit". The National Research Center should, with the ongoing cross-innovation group building in mind, get involved locally in Fuzhou, work closely with the local government on arrangements for smart city building, build innovation alliances with backbone technological enterprises, and promote the transformation of more achievements.

Wang Youzheng, Vice President of the Institute, delivered the annual work report. Lu Hairong, convener of the expert team, reported the difficulties faced in local work and demanded that the mechanism be transformed.
